Spirit of India v/ Anindita, Sandy & Skye
En eftermiddag, hvor du vil komme ind i en musiktradition med dybder og skønhed.
Sandy vil guide dig gennem en opvarmning, som bygger på gamle, meditative sangtraditioner, hvorpå Anindita leder os videre til de særlige skalaer og udtryk, som kendetegner de lettere, klassiske genrer thumri og khayal. Hvis du gerne synger i almindelighed, vil du kunne følge med.
I Anindita og Sandys selskab får du direkte kontakt med ånden i de indiske sangtraditioner. Begge har de beskæftiget sig med sang og musik gennem hele livet og optrådt i mange sammenhænge. Sandy taler flydende dansk, mens Aninditas undervisning foregår på let forståeligt engelsk. Der er tolk til stede, hvis det bliver nødvendigt.

Dagen rundes af med en lille dialogkoncert, hvor der slås bro mellem Hildegard von Bingens musik og Aninditas indlevende fortolkning med dybe rødder i indisk tonesprog.

An afternoon where you can enter a music tradition of depth and beauty.
Sandy will guide you through a warm-up based on old, meditative singing traditions, after which Anindita will lead us on to the special scales and expressions that characterize the lighter, classical genres of thumri and khayal. If you like to sing in general, you will be able to follow along.
In Anindita and Sandy’s company, you will get direct contact with the spirit of the Indian singing traditions. Both of them have been involved in singing and music throughout their lives and have performed in many contexts. Sandy speaks fluent Danish, while Anindita’s teaching is in easy-to-understand English. An interpreter is present if necessary.

The presentation Mantra and Meaning asks critical questions and provides insight into the roots of mantras in sound, music and phonetics. You will be able to hear illustrative examples from Skye’s own mouth: https://sway.cloud.microsoft/
The day will be rounded off with a small dialogue concert, bridging the gap between Hildegard von Bingen’s music and Anindita’s empathetic interpretation with deep roots in Indian musical language.
